HEALTH CRISIS IN AMERICA
It was no surprise when the World Health Organization ranked the U.S.A .
#1 in health care spending. The shocking news was that the United
States ranked #72 in overall health, which is below most third world
countries. This outrageous situation is caused by eating a diet of
processed foods.
DISEASE PREVENTION.
Most
diseases can be prevented and some cured by living a healthful
lifestyle. A wholesome diet, moderate daily exercise, and quality food
supplements work miracles. We can live to be well over 100 years old
and be healthy, happy, alert, and active most of the way.
PERSONAL INVOLVEMENT.
Being
healthy is only achieved through personal involvement. Relying on other
people to watch out for your health does not work. What works is
learning what you must do to enjoy good health. Good health is not
found at the pharmacy—it is found at the grocery store. Not the
processed foods, but a diet of fresh vegetables, fruits, wild fish, and
lean natural meats are the ingredients for being healthy.
AMERICA NEEDS A HEALTH MAKEOVER.
The United Nations
monitors worldwide health through The World Health Organization (WHO).
Until 1997 WHO provided periodic reports on the health of the nations of
the world. The last report showed the United States spent more
money on health care per person than any other nation. We ranked
#1 in health care spending by a wide margin. You would think that
spending the most would make us the healthiest nation, but that is not
the case. The health of the
United States was ranked #72
out of the 100 nations reported and was below most third world
countries. We have the best trauma care in the world but the
general health of our people is horrible.
In this country
people are routinely given heart bypasses and organ transplants, but the
medical industry gives little advice on preventative health measures.
We are an unhealthy nation and in order to get well we must take the
responsibility for our own health. People must become involved.
Relying on
THEM
to keep us healthy does not work, because
THEY
are in business and the goal of any business is to make a profit.
Of course, profit is not a consideration to the individual needing health care.
Therefore, health must be maintained with individuals supervising their
own health needs, which they do without regard to profit. The old axiom
"if you want it done right—do it yourself"
holds true once again and this time your life is at stake!
REASON FOR THE HEALTH CRISIS IN AMERICA.
The
health crisis in America is fueled by a diet of foods that are high in
calories and low in nutrition. In order to maintain a healthy body, we
need a diet high in vitamins, minerals, enzymes and antioxidants.
Vitamins and minerals fuel the electrical and chemical activity, which
controls bodily functions. Enzymes aid in the digestion and
assimilation of nutrients. Antioxidants regulate the burning of
calories in the cells to prevent them from rupturing and
releasing free radicals, which causes mutation. That in turn speeds
up aging, causes degenerative diseases, and cancer.
